Nest Program

The Tuscarora Language Nest Program (NEST) is a volunteer language program that teaches parents and their babies useful language for the home. NEST allows parents and children ages (0-5) the opportunity to socialize in the language and offers useful phrases for the parents to use at home. It typically meets 2 Saturdays a month throughout the school year.

NEST is the first introduction to the language for many of our newest community members and helps to build our speech community by facilitating family interconnectedness. An average of 7-10 families have attended this program per year, since its establishment in 2008.
